The Southwest Side of town is a very affordable area to live in San Antonio with options for both single- and multi-family living. Dispersed throughout the neighborhood are multi-home lots and duplexes. Apartment living is also common for this area. There is a lot of investment opportunity in this part of town as well.
While just about any kind of food can be found in San Antonio, the city is best known for its incredible Mexican fare. In fact, one of the first times tacos were ever introduced to America was in San Antonio. And the Southwest Side is full of delicious Mexican restaurants and taquerias to help you get your fix. But if you've had your fill of Tex-Mex, there is also a seafood restaurant and several burger joints to try.
The Southwest Side is a hub of activity. It is located next to Port San Antonio, which is on the property of the former Kelley Air Force Base. Port San Antonio is one of San Antonio's largest employers, housing tenants in industries such as aerospace, transportation, and warehousing. This area also neighbors Lackland Air Force Base. On any given day, expect to see military personnel and professionals who work at the Port mixed in with the locals.
With San Antonio's River Walk just minutes away, you can enjoy a night out at one of the many restaurants and bars along this beautiful stretch for which the city is famous. And with plenty of buses running to and from the Southwest side, you don't even have to worry about driving or finding parking downtown. For the sports fan, both the Alamodome and ATT Center are just a short drive away.
