Around Tahoe Park

Quaint cottages, renovated condominiums, and Victorian-style homes come together to make Tahoe Park a truly eclectic place to live. Its boundaries are Highway 50 to the north, Fruitridge Road to the south, Highway 99 to the west, and Watt Avenue to the east. It is less than a mile from California State University, Sacramento on the southwest side and less than a mile east of the UC Davis Medical Center. Traveling along the tree-shaded streets you will see a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes neatly tucked away from the street.

You will find the cuisine is as laid back as the neighborhood. Broadway, right in the heart of the neighborhood, is home to coffee shops that are as quaint as the surrounding area. Broadway Bakery Café is a popular gathering place for the locals and is the perfect spot for a sip of tea or your favorite coffee drink. Open-air fish and meat markets are a common sight on Thursdays during the summer months.

Tahoe Park is host to 13 recreational parks and gardens. Take a drive on San Francisco Boulevard and you will find yourself at Garden Tutor Park, a favorite place for locals to take in the beauty of the area. Tahoe Park tends to be quieter than other parts of Sacramento (unless you visit an apartment complex near the university on a Friday night). On both the north and south end of Tahoe Park you will find cozy, well-established neighborhoods.

Friday nights in Tahoe Park tend to be on the quieter side. There are a few bars along Broadway, including a brewpub, and there are a few galleries throughout the neighborhood. If you want a more active night head over to the nearby Downtown area and check out the Hoppy Brewing Company or venture into Old Downtown Sacramento and have a burger at Fanny Ann's.

Sunday is a favorite day for families to gather at one of the parks to celebrate a birthday or have a picnic. For something unique head over to the Public House Theatre on 14th Avenue. You can enjoy classic cinema with your beer or wine or just hang out.
