The Meadows is in the most ideal location. Nature and retail are a short drive away along with ideal playgrounds and great schools. Unfortunately the location cannot make up for all the management shortcomings. Ultimately, The Meadows, is plagged by inept managent. For all the services it promises it does not deliver. I truly regret purchasing my home and I hope that it will change. If you consider purchasing from the Meadows please do so with open eyes. I wish I would have read a review before committing and they really are out there. When I first came here I was impressed by the neighborhood and the value, but I got what I paid for. All the issues within this community can be addressed, so don't lose hope. Money: I was told the lot rental would be in the 700 per month range and after the sale went through, it increased to 980 per month. That is, I now pay lot rental plus their utilities to make it 980. I have been told by neighbors it increases every year. My electric is $230 per month and I've been told it is normal. I wish I knew all this beforehand because rentals are comparable and rentals offer real services. This community has a beautiful main room that I was given a code to when signing paperwork. Unfortunately, it is rarely accessible. The maintenance people told me they had some unsupervised children come in and make a mess so management made it only accessible if you ask them to personally open it. That would be fine if they kept business hours. I have been to the office more times than I can count and they were closed. They arrive late daily, take long lunches, and close early daily. I know I spent most of the summer driving to the office to see them closed. Before signing I was specifically told they would maintain the lawns. I had a lawn in front of my home and a flower bed. They said the lawn would be taken care of and now I have a large patch of weeds. The lawn care is sporadic at best and haphazardly done. This leaves my home with clippings by the front door and in the flower bed. I have a long bed of weeds and it is really disheartening when a big reason I moved here was to have a garden. I was told the sprinklers that did not work would be fixed. That has not happened. I was told they would fix the broken light pole by my home. My neighbor told me he was told it was his responsibility even though its in a common area. Hurricanes are a reality in Florida. Management only came in 3 days after the last storm. Please only purchase with eyes open. For the price it is cheaper to rent. Because electric is so much higher in a mobile home(I pay $230) and maintenance is usually included I wish I would have rented one block over. I truly regret purchasing because now I am stuck. I paid cash so there is no mortgage. Management has to approve who my home is sold to and other nicer homes here have been in and out of the market for months.
