I will NEVER EVER let my children go to this school.

I have had two sons attend all three years of this school, the younger of which recently completed 8th grade and is now on to high school. It is a great middle school, balancing the needs to adolescents who need both freedom and guidance. I cannot say enough good things about the band program. The band directors are top notch music educators who mix discipline, passion, fun and community for a very diverse set of students. Both of my sons loved their music experience at HMS. Like most schools there are some good and some great teachers. I have not come across any bad teachers, which differentiate HMS. Your child is likely to get a great education regardless of which teacher their schedule assigns them. Also, like most schools, there are cliques and normal middle school hi jinx, but I have not heard of any of the major issues such as bullying, drugs, gangs, weapons, etc.

Its a great school with a lot of school pride. They have tons of activities for the kids to do and tutorials for before and after school. I like that the school challenges the kids too. Recently the school went to laptops for all of the kids which is great because that is where the market is going. All in all I am happy with them
