Around Venetian Hills
Venetian Hills offers a mix of renovated and newly constructed single-family homes. Most are in the bungalow style, though each property has acquired its own unique features over the years. Homeowners on the east end of the neighborhood are closer to the MARTA station, though a park-and-ride lot is available for residents not in walking distance.
Homebuyers can really get some bang for their buck on this neighborhood’s affordable, yet spacious lots. Despite its proximity to the city, Venetian Hills does not have the intown city prices. Local homeowners can certainly vouch for the popularity of this market, where each home they see renovated is sold on the market quite quickly.
Seafood, Cajun, and vegan comfort food can be enjoyed at restaurants in the area, with most eateries concentrated around Campbellton Road. One local favorite just west of the neighborhood is The Beautiful Restaurant, a cafeteria-style diner that’s been serving up ribs, catfish, and ham hocks since 1979.
Venetian Hills is primarily residential, with businesses setting up shop on the neighborhood borders. The scenery can be rather mesmerizing as you drive through hilly slopes and pass under sprawling tree branches.
Several sports bars can be found near Venetian Hills for a casual night out. For something out of the ordinary, Downtown Atlanta is always a train ride away. The city offers performance arts venues, galleries, nightclubs, and more. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is also a short train ride away.
Outdoorsy individuals enjoy Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, Adams Park, or the nearby golf courses. Lovers of the arts flock to all parts of the city to enjoy beautiful historic landmarks, street art sculptures, or murals. With the heart of the city being so close, there are many relaxing Sunday events, festivals, restaurants, and activities to enjoy nearby.
MARTA buses zig-zag through Atlanta’s southwest neighborhoods. Just east the Venetian Hills, residents can catch a train at Oakland City Transit Station. However, having a vehicle certainly makes life easier in this neighborhood, as daily essentials must often be purchased outside the community. Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport is only about a 20-minute drive or train ride away.
