I sub in 10 different districts, and Shattuck is hands-down my favorite school to work at because: 1. The school has a large staff of qualified veteran teachers with a wide variety of teaching experiences and varying levels of expertise. 2. The administration trusts its teachers to create their own policies and procedures with little or no outside intervention. Shattuck follows the Common Core Standards to a T , but there are very few building-wide policies, such as a set way for weighting grades, or a required number of presentations that every student must give. This allows the experienced staff to make their own informed decisions related to instruction. 3. Because this is a larger school, Shattuck can offer its students many specialized services and extracurricular activities. Every wing in this building is crawling with speech pathologists, paraeducators and library media specialists. 4. This is a technologically advanced school. All students and staff have their own iPads, and students are required to use Google Apps for written assignments. The school is well-equipped with MacBooks and desktop computers, and its easy to reserve a computer lab. --- Tim Weldzius

This school is amazing. I went for 2 years and all of the teachers were kind and caring. They love to help out, and give you great grades. The vice principal, though, doesn't do much about being hit or bullied. I had gotten hit by an ex friend, but he didn't suspend her for that or even calling me pregnant. And if you want to hit someone back in defense you are more likely to have a worse punishment than the one who started it. The guidance counselors are amazing, especially Mrs. L-H. And if you get harassed over text officer baumann will figure it out for you. I did during the WKCE and the students there are amazing. Mine made me go get help. But overall this school is great, just be careful about the bullies, but if I were you I'd just go to the counselors or officer because they care the most about you. This is something I'd recommend to everyone, and you can get great grades. I won an award for computer education. Also, they have A LOT of choices for electives. 2 different languages, and a lot more other things. Also they have advanced classes for us smarties :) Have fun! There are GREAT students to become friends, too. I made my best friend here :)

The teachers are fantastic, and the music programs are outstanding.
