Around Woodberry

If you really love to get outdoors and enjoy the best that Mother Nature has to offer, the perfect Sunday in Woodberry likely involves a trip over to the Greenspring Trails. The Jones Falls Trail and the Cylburn Arboretum are also great for Sunday afternoon activities.

A Friday night in Woodberry can take a lot of forms depending on the type of person you are. If you just want to sit back, relax, and unwind after a hard week at work, you're more than capable of doing so. If you're the type of person who loves to get out and hit the streets, you can either stop by a local restaurant like Woodberry Kitchen or head into Hampden, which is just just a mile away. Enjoy the restaurants and bars in Hampden and all of the activity that comes with them before retreating back to Woodberry for a little peace and quiet.

Though Woodberry is notoriously laid back and has the type of small, down-home feel that a lot of people cherish, it does have one notable exception - Television Hill. Because Woodberry is the highest point in the entire area, Television Hill is has two massive broadcasting masts for all of the area's local TV stations. At any given time, if you fix your attention towards the hill, you'll see people from WMAR, WBAL, WJZ, WBFF and others making sure their content is sent out into the area in the highest possible quality.

Whether you're planning on moving into the area or are just passing through, you would be remiss not to check out perhaps its most famous culinary hotspot in all of Baltimore - Woodberry Kitchen. Woodberry Kitchen features seasonal foods sourced entirely from local growers and has the type of wine list you just need to see to believe. Be warned, though, it can fill up quickly, so if you're trying to get in on any particular evening without a reservation (which themselves are hard to come by), you're going to be waiting awhile. La Cuchara and Cosima are also local favorites.

As is true with most of the other neighborhoods this close to Downtown Baltimore, the majority of the housing options available come in the form of two- and three-story row homes - most of which were built during the 20th century. While you can find a condo building if you look hard enough, your options are fairly limited.
