Rogers Park

Chicago, Illinois

Overview

Along with its neighbor, West Ridge, Rogers Park is the northernmost boundary of Chicago proper and is a melting pot of different cultures and cuisines; it's one of the most culturally and economically diverse neighborhoods in the country. This North Side neighborhood boasts a seemingly endless number of restaurants that reflect the multicultural make-up of its residents. Rogers Park also includes Loyola University and is near Northwestern University in Evanston, bringing in students from all over the world who live alongside the neighborhood's long-standing residents. This is evidenced by the several coffee shops, restaurants, and bars throughout the area.

Rogers Park is within walking distance of the lake, giving residents access to several beaches. It also has an array of beautiful parks, making it one of the most dog-friendly neighborhoods in the city. While the neighborhood consists of many single-family homes, there are also several condominium options available.

A majority of the homes within Rogers Park are either in the single-family and condominium style. Single-family homes in the belly of Rogers Park tend to be bungalows, while condos range from historic renovations to new construction along the highly coveted lakefront. Elegant estates with plenty of space can also be found in the area. Due to Rogers Park's size, one can be close to the action happening along the coast or live farther west for a bit more peace and quiet. The Red Line train runs through the east side of the neighborhood while the Metra is more easily accessed from the west end.
